Providing support to survivors of Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries, and Workhouses (MBMLW) and their associated pathways and practices
Funded by the Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) and working in partnership with WAVE Trauma Centre, Adopt NI are committed to providing a range of tailored support services across Northern Ireland. Additionally, victims and survivors outside of Northern Ireland will have access to the necessary services and support. These services, developed in collaboration with MBMLW groups and others, are designed to be client-focused, easily accessible, and responsive to the unique needs of survivors
We provide a range of dedicated services to support survivors of Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries, and Workhouses and their pathways and practices (1922-1990), including:

Specialist Family Tracing: Delivered by qualified genealogists, this includes voluntary DNA testing, analysis, interpretation, and optional family tracing.

Intermediary Support: Assisting individuals and families affected by these institutions and their associated pathways and practices.

Advice & Advocacy: Empowering individuals to feel understood and supported throughout their journey and pre-during and post public inquiry.

Comprehensive Therapeutic Support: Offering wraparound therapeutic support throughout the client journey.
